OUR STORY

THE FOUNDING PREMISE.

"Can electricity do what chemistry does — without the cost and consequence?"

Lisi Global was founded in Washington State on the conviction that agriculture and land management were overdue for a technological reckoning. Chemical dependency in pest and vegetation control carries compounding costs — regulatory risk, environmental liability, human health exposure, and the diminishing returns of resistance.

The founding team set out to engineer an alternative grounded in physics, not formulation. The result is Directed Energy technology: pulsed electricity, precisely calibrated, applied where the organism is. No residue. No waiting. No compromise.

WHAT WE ARE TODAY

Lisi Global has completed three years of on-track rail field development, bench and greenhouse validation across multiple crop systems, a USDA/NIFA grant award for technology evaluation against methyl bromide, and is commercially deploying the Direct|Rail system to rail operators.

The agriculture and turf programs continue to advance through academic partnership and grower trials. The technology platform is sector-agnostic — one electronics package, purpose-built applicators.

Serving growers of the world is the primary focus of our business — from turf to raspberries, rhubarb to tomatoes, potatoes and beyond. We intend to realize our technology's full potential. We also take the challenge of increasing global food production very seriously, because we see our technology as the only truly sustainable solution.

OUR POSITION

The UN's projection on global food demand is not an abstraction — it's the operational context for every decision in agriculture today. Soil pest pressure, chemical resistance, and regulatory tightening make the old playbook increasingly unworkable.

Lisi Global's technology is positioned to be part of the structural answer: scalable, chemistry-free, validated pest and vegetation control that improves yields without the downstream cost. Alongside food production, rail infrastructure demands the same evolution — precision vegetation management without the liability of chemical programs in sensitive, restricted, and no-spray corridors.

Timeline
2012
The Beginning — Nematode Research
Early development of Directed Energy Technology began with a focus on sustainable solutions for nematode, soil pest, and pathogen management. Initial bench-top trials demonstrated the huge implications for growers with no effective means of controlling soil pest infestations once the plant is established. The profit potential for both parties — and the global impact — quickly became apparent.
2013
First Field Trials — Raspberry & Soil Pest Applications
Field trials expanded beyond the laboratory. A profoundly important breakthrough moment: the team confirmed DE technology could treat soil pests in-plant without harm to the plant or the crop, opening the commercial pathway for growers dealing with established nematode pressure. Raspberry, rhubarb, and tomato systems were early focuses.
2014
Platform Expansion — DES Architecture Defined
The electronics architecture was formalized: one core DES electronics package, purpose-built applicators per sector. This sector-agnostic approach — same core, different interfaces — became the defining strategic advantage of the platform, enabling agriculture, turf, and later rail applications without reinventing the core system.
2015
Direct|Turf & Direct|Yield — Product Lines Launched
The Direct|Turf and Direct|Yield product lines were formalized. Golf course and managed turf trials demonstrated efficacy against nematode infestation without preparation, buffer zones, or application downtime. Row crop and vineyard applications confirmed broad-spectrum control including endo-parasitic nematodes and phylloxera.
2016–17
Academic Partnerships & USDA/NIFA Grant Award
Lisi Global was awarded a USDA/NIFA grant to evaluate DE Technology as a replacement for methyl bromide fumigation — one of the most significant regulatory validations in the company's history. University research partnerships commenced, producing bench and greenhouse trial data across nematode species, fungal pathogens, and insect larvae. Results were published and made available to qualified partners.
2018–19
Rail Sector Entry — Direct|Rail Development Begins
Lisi Global identified the rail vegetation management sector as a primary commercial opportunity. Initial on-track development began with the Direct|Rail system — a compact, all-in-one hi-rail EVM unit. The electronics package was adapted for a 16-foot electrode array operating at speed, with battery-hybrid power for all-day field runs. No chemical supply chain. No re-entry interval.
2020
Direct|Rail — Product Family Complete
The full Direct product family was established: Direct|Turf, Direct|Yield, Direct|Vine, Direct|Batch, and Direct|Rail. The company formalized its brand identity and positioned for commercial deployment across all five product lines. Battery-hybrid power integration confirmed near carbon neutral operational classification for the DES platform.
2021–22
Field Validation Complete — Commercial Deployment
Three years of continuous on-track rail field development concluded with consistent, repeatable efficacy results exceeding 80% on a 16-foot swath at 5 mph operating speed. Direct|Rail is now commercially available for lease or purchase. The company is actively deploying to rail operators with restricted corridor, no-spray zone, and high-density network requirements.

DEVELOPMENT HISTORY

A DECADE OF PROGRESS.

SUSTAINABILITY FRAMEWORK

ALIGNED WITH
GLOBAL STANDARDS.

Lisi Global's Directed Energy technology directly supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Healthy, pest-managed plants require fewer synthetic inputs. Fewer inputs mean reduced production, transport, and application emissions. Battery-hybrid power makes DE technology near carbon-neutral at the point of application.

SDG Section
SDG 2
Zero Hunger
Chemical-free soil pest control that protects yield and supports global food production targets without environmental tradeoffs.
SDG 13
Climate Action
Battery-hybrid power at point of application. Near carbon neutral classification. No chemical synthesis, transport, or disposal emissions.
SDG 15
Life on Land
No residue, no soil loading, no buffer zones. Precision targeting preserves surrounding microbiota and beneficial soil organisms.
SDG 3
Good Health
Eliminates human chemical exposure at point of application. No re-entry delays. No restricted-use material handling requirements.
